My Favorite Teacher Discounts

As a teacher, I am always on the hunt for bargains, closeouts and freebies that I can use to enhance learning in my classroom. Of course, limiting your search to the clearance rack isn’t always most fruitful. This is where teacher discounts come in handy. Sometimes you can’t avoid paying retail prices, but you can choose where you shop. See below for my list of favorite stores that offer teacher discounts in 2019.

Member Discounts
If you are shopping online then the easiest way to save is to use one of the teacher member portals. These allow you to scan discounts and sale events across every shopping category. They will also save you time since they highlight any special instructions or links teachers need to use.

NEA Click & Save
The NEA Click & Save shopping platform features over 800 merchants, including travel, electronics, and entertainment. In addition to providing upfront discounts, you also earn WOWPoints for every dollar spent. These reward points can be used as credits towards future purchases, adding even more value to every discount. NEA members can also add up to 5 family members to their account to share the savings.

ID.me Shop
ID.me was created to help retailers confirm discount eligibility for military, teachers, and government employees. By registering with ID.me you can easily prove that you are a teacher when shopping online. In addition to providing verification services, ID.me also has an online portal you can use to shop the best teacher discounts on the internet. Similar to NEA Click & Save, ID.me clearly posts discounts and sale events by merchant and category. Find out more.

International Teacher ID Card (ITIC)
The ITIC is another verification ID that gives teachers access to thousands of travel, online and lifestyle discounts at home and in over 133 countries worldwide. The travel perks include trip insurance and international discount opportunities for those traveling abroad. The ITIC requires an annual membership fee and employment verification. The basic membership is only $20 per year and gives you access to all stores discounts. If you travel frequently you might consider the $199 premium membership, which includes in-depth travel insurance and exclusive travel discounts. See travel options here.

ITIC bonus: If you love Target like I do then you’ll pay for your ITIC basic membership in four Target trips. Your ITIC card gets you $5 off purchases of $50 or more in-store or online. I go to Target every week so this is definitely one I am going to explore!
