When teens aren’t in school, they spend their time hanging out with their friends and doing a variety of other things around the house. Some of these things are productive, and some of them are less so.

This is a time when teens should be engaging in the former. By sitting down to create goals or volunteer at a community center, they develop skills that they can use for life.

Not all these productive teenage activities have to feel tedious. They can be fun if they choose the right things to engage in. Check out this guide for a list of great things that you can encourage your child to do.

1. Create a Website

There are a million amazing quarantine activities for teenagers to take part in. One of the best ones is creating a website. You don’t have to be a college graduate to make one.

In fact, there are hosting sites out there that allow you to make one in a matter of minutes. Your teen can use their site as a blog where they talk about their various hobbies.

If they get good at it, they may even be able to make a little cash out of it. If they don’t, well, they’re still learning valuable skills that they can take to college with them.

2. Set Goals

When thinking about things for a 13-year-old to do, the last thing on your mind is probably goals. They’re a little young for that, aren’t they? Nope!

You’re never too young to think about your future. Encourage them to sit down and make a list of things that want out of life. It doesn’t matter if it’s something as small as graduating high school or as big as talking to modelling agencies.

3. Volunteer

Nothing fills someone with satisfaction quite like performing a selfless act. Doing volunteer work teaches teenagers responsibility. When they’re looking for a job, they can put this work on their resume as well.

4. Learn a New Recipe

When children go off to college, oftentimes they’ll have access to a kitchen. They can use said kitchen to escape from the unpleasant dinners in the dining hall.

That’s why cooking should be a part of any list of productive activities for teens. It will teach them a little independence.

If your child doesn’t like cooking, baking can be more enjoyable. There’s nothing like playing around with dough and flour.

5. Take an Online Class

It can be hard to talk your child into taking an online class. It feels too much like school. In reality, it’s easy to find classes in pretty much anything.

They can learn how to decorate cakes, or how to write a book. The possibilities are endless.

Productive Teenage Activities That Anyone Can Do

Are you trying to figure out how to keep a teenager busy at home? There are tons of things that they can do that are both fun and innovative.

Encourage your child to take part in productive teenage activities such as baking a cake or doing volunteer work. It will change their life for the better.
