Today marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month, a annual celebration of the history and culture of the U.S. Latinx and Hispanic communities. The event, which spans from September 15 to October 15, commemorates how those communities have influenced and contributed to American society at large.
We wanted to take this time to celebrate the Latinx Influencers we love that are making waves across social media. From TikTok to Instagram and everywhere in-between the Latinx community is making a huge impact. From wine, to food and fashion these influencers inspire us!
Latinx Influencers To Follow
1. Vane Pena
Vane’s authenticity has gained a huge following, as they take followers on a behind-the-scenes journey of life. They talk about everything from mental health and gender identity to day-to-day struggles and wins. Along the way, they share life all while using comedy to help us relate to life and the issues that we all know too well. With 3 million followers on TikTok and counting, Vane isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
2. Nathan Apodaca aka Doggface
From homeless to viral TikTok star, Nathan has become the face nobody can forget. In September 2020 Nathan posted a TikTok video of him skateboarding, listening to Fleetwood Mac, ‘Dreams’, and drinking Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice that went viral around the world. As a result of Nathan’s TikTok video going viral, Fleetwood Mac, “Dreams” 1977 song was back on the music charts at #1 and the “Rumors” album at #7, garnering Nathan worldwide attention. Raising his family in New York City, Jose’ is considered a new voice in the Latinx and LGBTQ+ space bridging the gap between both cultures while remaining relatable to all families. His TikToks landed him on the cover of Parents Latina Magazine, the first time ever for a gay Latinx father. 7. Martha Cisneros
Growing up in Mexico, wine was not a part of her table. There was beer or tequila but never wine. She decided to learn more about wine and start reading back labels.
