QR CODES IN PLACE OF BROCHURES

Steamboat Springs, Colorado Cam Boyd & The Boyd Team today announced they are switching from paper brochures to digital format. This switch reduces the amount of paper necessary for advertising and eliminates the waste that comes with printing materials. With a QR code on every yard sign, it is easy for customers to find out more information about the property before from their mobile device. “It’s so much easier for people when they can just scan their phones,” says Mr. Boyd after moving from the paper brochure stuffed into brochure boxes attached to yard signs.

The same QR Code used on the yard sign can also be used in other formats. You can add the codes to print ads in the newspaper or magazines. You can add them at the end of videos on Youtube. You can have them available at open houses for people to scan for more information on that property.

DIGITAL MARKETING

The switch to QR codes is just one of the many ways The Boyd Team is using digital marketing to benefit their clients. “The code takes the user to a custom webpage designed just for that property.” Said Josh Cook, digital marking specialist for The Boyd Team. “The QR code, website, posts on platforms like Facebook and Instagram, advertisements on Google and Yahoo, it all ties into a bigger marketing plan designed to give our sellers the best exposure for their homes.” Said Josh.

QR CODES

A QR code (an initialism for Quick Response code) is a type of matrix barcode (or two-dimensional barcode). They have been around for over 20 years. The initial novelty wore off quickly as the early version required the user to download a special QR Code app to ‘read’ the code. But the newer mobile phone operating systems began building these readers into the camera of the phone, and it became much easier for the user to retrieve information embedded in the QR code.

A byproduct of the COVID-19 pandemic, many restaurants moved to QR code linked menus to keep customers from having to handle paper menus and reduced contact between service staff and customers. For a lot of people, this was a reintroduction to QR codes, and for some, it was their first time using a QR code.

BENEFITS

The switch to QR codes has many benefits.
• Ease of use – Most people have used a QR code before and know how they work. With a built-in reader in most mobile phones, it’s as easy as pointing your camera at the sign.
• Less Waste – with QR Codes, there is no need for a paper brochure box.
• Reusability – Dynamic QR Codes are reusable, enabling you to change or re-target your URL or information to another landing page even though it has been printed or deployed. You make a sign once with a custom code, when the property sells, you can reuse that same code for a new listing.

QR Codes are available now. For more information on Cam Boyd & The Boyd Team visit steamboatagent.com
