Your skin is a constant priority. Regardless of the time of year, your skin should remain the top of your beauty list. Perhaps you’re looking for the right winter skincare routine, but when it comes to ensuring you have great looking skin all year round, it may very well be the routine you have on a daily basis. Remember The 3 Main Steps

It’s all about cleansingtoning, and moisturizing. Fixing your complexion is all about ensuring you follow these three steps. And you need to remember that as you get older, your skin will change, so you need to change your products. It’s always worth keeping abreast of the latest beauty products reviews, so you can look for the most recent developments. It’s all about giving yourself that grounding based off of your skin type. These three main steps will ensure you have an adequate foundation.

Cleansing

Your skin needs to “breathe.”  Your skin is like the armor of your body, it fends off dust and particles and free radicals throughout the day.  These actually can clog your pores and cause blemishes.  Washing your face at night and in the morning can help keep it breathing and healthy.

Toning

Using toners can help with a host of things depending on what your skin needs and the brand you use.  Toners can help clean pores even further and balance your skins pH.  They can also help hydrate skin and help tighten pores and cell gap so that less environmental contaminants penetrate your skin.

Moisturizing

This step is so important especially in the dry winter months.  It repairs skin and protects from the dry weather.  It also helps to hydrate and soften the skin.  Again it is important to select a moisturizer that will work for your skin type.

The Right Diet Underneath It All

When you make significant changes to your skincare routine, it’s not just about the products, but you need to have the foundation as far as your lifestyle habits are concerned as well. Having the right diet underneath it all means that your skin will maintain its elasticity. There’s a lot of products that contain collagen, which can be found in many foods. It’s all about hydrating your skin, giving it healthy fats, and also providing your skin with the adequate nutrients. The right diet underneath it all gives you that fighting chance. And when we start to look at our bad habits, this means that we will inevitably fine-tune our diet, which will yield significant benefits on our skin. A lot of people take every beauty product they can get their hands on because they think this will stop them from aging so badly. But the real truth in it all is about those healthy practices. This is what will keep you looking youthful.  Check out FoodNetwork’s list of 15 worst foods for your skin here.

Give It Time

Even when you have the right skincare products, the perfect balance of cleansing, toning, and moisturizing your skin, you still need to remember that these things can take time. There is no such thing as an instant fix. With any product, you need to use it over six weeks to notice any difference. Preferably you need to use it twice a day. But also consider the order of consistency with any skincare products. You need to apply it from the thinnest consistency to the thickest. And while skincare products are evolving with every passing day, you need to remember that it won’t fix issues overnight. But this is where a good skincare routine has to form part of a decent lifestyle change.

Altering your skincare routine as you get older means learning what benefits your skin. We can very easily look at general guides to push us in the right direction, but you know your skin better than anyone else. Changing your skincare routine is something that you will need to do as you get older and gracefully age.
