Deem-It App Offers a Diverse Menu of Savings for Savvy Shoppers With an Opportunity to Give Back

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OCALA, FL, February 7, 2024— In these tumultuous economic times, entrepreneur and mom Ellie Hancock knows a few things about shopping, saving money and helping the community that raised her.

Her latest venture is a Florida-centric app that does all of those things. Deem-It launched last fall amid much anticipation and social media buzz. As of this writing, Deem-It has partnered with more than 100 local businesses, shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues in North Central Florida.

“We want to help families save money,” Hancock said.  “We also noticed there was a need for businesses to expand their brand.”

From apples to the Appleton Museum, Deem-It offers a diverse menu of savings from favorite local chains to mom-and-pops; KFC franchise group and Sonic are recent partners, too.

That in itself is big news but Deem-It’s bigger picture includes nurturing local nonprofits, particularly schools and youth programs. The app allows users to donate a percentage of their purchases to local causes.

Schools and other youth and nonprofit organizations can sign up for Deem-it!’s Give Back Initiative as a fundraiser. When they do, they are provided a unique code to share. For every code used when signed up for a yearly membership, Deem-it! donates $10 back to that organization. “For us it’s important to give back and help the local communities that we expand into. Especially when it comes to our youth.”

Several Marion and Alachua counties also partnered with Deem-It. Dr. NH Jones and Ocala Springs Elementary School are working with Deem-it!’s Give Back Program. The money will be donated to the school of choice for the principal’s discretionary fund or their PTA/PTO.

In creating Deem-It, Hancock wanted to honor her community as well as a beloved leader who helped turn Marion County into Horse Country – her father, the late Dick Hancock. The elder Hancock was a strong voice for Ocala who served as executive vice president of the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owners’ Association for more than two decades; he died in 2021, leaving a deep legacy of service.

In the spirit of her father and his impact, Ellie Hancock wanted to make sure her business venture gave back to her community.

With its mantra SHOP. EAT. PLAY. SAVE. & GIVE BACK, Deem-It is a convenient one-stop app for deals on your favorite products and tickets to local events. Download now, save big and inspire change.
