One of the most talked about natural anxiety, stress, and chronic pain treatments can be summed up in just three letters: CBD. But what is CBD? How does it work? And why are major pharmacy chains looking into, if not already carrying, CBD products?

In this blog I will address these questions as well as give you some insightful information in order to help you make some good decisions for your physical and mental well-being.

What is CBD?

•      Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring compound found in the resinous flower of the cannabis plant.  Today the mental and physical health benefits of CBD are undergoing thorough testing by scientists and doctors all over the world.

•        CBD is one of more than one hundred phytocannabinoids; organic compounds which are unique to cannabis and endow the plant with its unique therapeutic attributes.

How Does It Work?

CBD interacts with our bodies in a variety of ways. It affects us is by imitating and increasing the effects of compounds already present in our bodies called endogenous cannabinoids. They are called this because of the similar attributes they share with the compounds found in the cannabis plant.

I find that it gives the best basic information on where CBD focuses in the body without going too far into the science.

CBD has within it the ability to treat a variety of conditions. I personally usually use it to relieve day-to-day stress and the occasional headache. The medical and scientific world are still looking into the wonders of CBD; the times are changing and it’s great to see that we’re moving toward more natural ways to treat our ailments.
