FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Sacramento, CA, September 2, 2022— READ Academy of Sacramento has recorded steady growth since its establishment in January 2021. The founders started the institution in the Greater Sacramento area to provide a place for students who learn differently to grow, learn and create. It opened its doors during the health crisis with eight students, grew to twelve, and doubled its student body by August of the same year. By the end of the first school year, the number of learners had grown to 41, with ten graduating after completing the program. As of today, 54 students are registered.

“We are excited to see our institution grow and help the many students who learn differently around the Sacramento area. Our quest to educate dyslexic learners is gaining momentum, and we cannot wait to see what the future has in store for us. Having decided to divide four classrooms to accommodate the growth, we opened our door this week with 52 students,” said Leah Skinner, the school administrator at READ Academy of Sacramento.

READ Academy is one of the fastest-growing dyslexia schools in California. It helps children with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia excel in their academic skills through a unique teaching approach and evidence-based curricula. The institution’s passionate staff helps learners academically and personally reach their highest potential.

“At READ Academy, we empower students to ask insightful questions, explore disciplinary boundaries, and confront conventional ways of thinking. We support students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia to excel in their academic skills by providing instructions suited to their unique learning style,” added Skinner.

READ Academy and its sister company, READ Learning Center, offer four programs: private school, after-school tutoring, summer program, and dyslexia assessment. The private school offers evidence-based, multisensory small group instruction to students in the 2nd to 10th grade (11th and 12th grade opening in 2023 and 2024, respectively). In partnership with their sister company, READ Learning Center provides evidence-based multisensory tutoring services to students as young as kindergarten through adulthood who need additional help with reading, writing, and math. Lastly, the dyslexia assessment helps parents and guardians understand why their bright and capable child is struggling with reading, writing, or math by exploring dyslexia through a thorough examination of childhood history and standardized academic and processing assessments.
