Promises Behavioral Health, a leading addiction and mental health treatment center, has developed an alumni program to help clients stay on track with their recovery after initial care. The Rooted alumni program will be a part of all 10 of the Promises addiction rehab center locations at no extra cost to their clients.

The Rooted alumni program was created with the understanding that clients need continued support after treatment. This program gives clients that support by providing continued check-ins with facility alumni coordinators and essential resources for addiction and mental health recovery. Each facility also hosts weekly, on-site alumni meetings, sober group outings, community volunteer opportunities, and homecoming events; all in an effort to boost social engagement and provide an outlet to share stories of success and struggle. By bridging the gap after treatment, clients can return to their recovery roots and find hope during difficult times.

“This program is so important for maintaining peer to peer connection,” says Patrick Custer, National Director of Alumni with Promises Behavioral Health. “We want to reinvigorate those good feelings that treatment creates and continue to generate hope in each of our clients’ lives.”

The Rooted alumni program will be offered to all clients who complete their treatment plan within the Promises Behavioral Health family of facilities. This program will benefit clients by giving them the tools to maintain long-term recovery results and will provide fellowship opportunities which are a proven factor in life-long sobriety. Research indicates that a mixture of behavioral health treatment, sober housing options, and “life-affirming” alumni services reduces relapse and psychiatric symptoms. In creating the Rooted alumni program, Promises Behavioral Health can deepen client to client relationships and provide hope for those struggling after treatment.
