Hometown, A Local Shopping Platform Launches in Colorado

Hometown Shopping makes supporting local businesses easier with everything in one place

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DENVER (October 3, 2022) – The local impact startup Hometown was recently launched in Colorado to bridge the gap between small businesses and locals who want to keep their money in the community. From custom jewelry to artisanal coffee to locally designed clothing, Hometown has more than 10 local businesses offering unique, high-quality products that shoppers can choose from with more on the way.

Ian Godsey launched Hometown after becoming increasingly frustrated with the quality of products available from e-commerce giants. “While small businesses make and sell high-quality & unique products, they often lack the resources to be able to compete online with much bigger competitors,” Ian says. In turn, shoppers have to dig through multiple websites to find the product they are looking for locally. Godsey saw an opportunity to improve the local shopping experience for both small businesses and online shoppers, especially as the shop local movement has gained momentum throughout the health crisis.

At Hometown, we believe that small businesses are what make communities unique, stronger  & more united. Hometown is a platform where customers can find products designed and made locally without having to search in a dozen different places to find what they want. We hope visitors will choose to support their local community over faceless corporations,” said Godsey.

By banding together, small businesses are partners with Hometown and have the opportunity to reach more local customers online. Whether shopping for gifts on #smallbusinesssaturdays or picking out something personal, Hometown shoppers can feel good about the products they are purchasing.

“Joining Hometown was a no-brainer for us…” said Jillian Glenn Altman of Glenn + Glenn apparel. “Exposure is such a huge hurdle to climb when launching a new business, especially during the uncertain atmosphere over the last two years, so it’s great to be part of this curated Colorado collection of small businesses.”

Hometown hopes to grow to include small businesses across the region. If you are a small business interested in being a part of the Hometown community, email [email protected]. To shop hometown products, visit hometown.shopping. Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.
