Looking for a new pair of kicks? If you love the Adidas Yeezy 700 line, then it’s time to check out the latest offering in the collection.

The Yeezy 700 V3 takes everything you already love about the line and enhances it. There are a variety of different colorways available to suit any style, with more introduced on a regular basis.

Today, we’re taking a deep dive into these shoes to help you understand a little more about them before you buy!

Kanye West Collaboration

The Yeezy 700 V3 is a sneaker that Kanye West designed with Adidas. Kanye was actually the first person to introduce the line, and he did so via a Twitter post in 2018.

While that was the informal “debut” of the collection, fans soon saw a more refined version of the sneakers when West sat down for a sneaker-centric interview with Forbes. He also hand-gifted a pair of the kicks (then unreleased) to musician DJ Khaled in a short video that went viral.

Design Standards to Note

While the individual colorways will vary in style and shade, there are a few shared characteristics that you’ll find in every pair of Yeezy 700 V3s. With these shoes, you won’t find many of the brand’s go-to materials used in the two previous versions, including mesh, leather, and suede.

Instead, you’ll find:

  • A stretchy, mesh-based upper (Primeknit)
  • Rubbery overlays (TPU cages)
  • Neoprene tongues
  • EVA foam

These are just a few of the top features that give the Yeezy 700 V3s their signature look. These chunky, thick sneakers have captured the attention of wearers all over the world who herald their universal appeal and unmatched comfort.

No BOOST Cushioning

While previous Yeezy models boasted ultra-luxe BOOST cushioning, you won’t find that feature in any of the 700 V3s. Instead, these sneakers are built with a PU-encapsulated EVA midsole. The swap doesn’t sacrifice comfort or style, though the BOOST does offer a little more support.

Seven Releases to Date

To date, Adidas has released six different colorways of the Yeezy 700 V3. The first colorway was called “Azael” and it was released on December 23, 2019.

Azael featured a white sail cage that covered a white mesh upper. The fresh tone popped against the black, neoprene tongue and attached sock liner. Since then, there have been six other, subsequent releases featuring different colorways, including:

  • Alvah Colorway: Released April 11, 2020
  • Azareth Colorway: Released August 29, 2020
  • Safflower Colorway: Released November 14, 2020
  • Clay Brown Colorway: Released December 21, 2020
  • Kyanite Colorway: Released March 25, 2021
  • Black Glow Colorway: Released August 2, 2021

You can find most of these colorways in our online Yeezy 700 shop collection. Let’s take a closer look at each of these releases and what they include.

Alvah Colorway

The Alvah Colorway features a mostly black Primeknit upper. While the TPU cage is black, light gray stripes are visible behind it. At its release, this sneaker was considered equally as popular as the initial Azaeal predecessor.

Azareth Colorway

The Azareth Colorway features a royal blue Primeknit upper and a lighter blue TPU cage. The sock liner is black, popping against the more vibrant hues. Released in late summer, this bright sneaker was also the first to make use of Adidas’ new bungee-style laces, also called infinity laces.

Safflower Colorway

The Safflower Colorway features a butter yellow and white Primeknit upper, housed within a white TPU cage. The black neoprene tongue contrasts cooly against these warmer tones.

Clay Brown Colorway

The Clay Brown Colorway features a black Primeknit upper, offset by stripes of light tan on the sides. The TPU cage is black, as is the tongue and sock liner.

Kyanite Colorway

The Kyanite Colorway features a white Primeknit upper with bright blue stripes on the sides. The TPU cage is off-white and the neoprene tongue is a striking black.

Black Glow Colorway

Very similar to the Alvah Colorway that debuted in April 2020, the Black Glow Colorway features an all-black color palette with gray stripes on the side. These shoes feature the brand’s signature Primeknit base and rubber cage. Like the other pairs, you’ll also find an EVA foam midsole instead of BOOST cushioning.

The characteristic that sets this particular colorway apart?

The Black Glow skeleton appears to “glow” sky blue under certain lighting conditions! This pair debuted on Yeezy Day, August 2, 20201, and quickly sold out at the retail launch.

Feature-Rich and Functional

Like all of the sneakers in West’s creative Yeezy line, the 700 V3s are equally streamlined, with a distinct futuristic appearance. Sneakerheads love that these shoes pay homage to vintage basketball shoes while still being decidedly modern and sleek.

Yet, there’s more to these shoes than what meets the eye.

They’re also incredibly comfortable, well-wearing, and functional. Each pair features plush cushioning and excellent slip resistance, as well as enhanced stability thanks to the thick-bottom heel. Even without the BOOST midsole, these sneakers are comfortable and beautifully sculpted.

Another benefit?

Although these sneakers look sturdy and thick, they’re surprisingly lightweight! That makes them much more wearable. Your feet will also stay cool and comfy thanks to the line’s well-ventilated mesh uppers.
