CBD: The Natural Alternative

On a daily basis we are faced with decisions, most of which don’t require much thought. What deodorant should we put on? Whether or not to have cream and sugar in our coffee?

Unfortunately, we tend to do the same when treating our day to day stresses and discomforts. How often do we think about having a glass of beer or wine to help us wind down and de-stress after a hard day at work? How often do we reach for acetaminophen, ibuprofen, or aspirin to treat our daily aches and pains?

Many of us do these things without a second thought as to what we may be doing to our physical or mental well-being. Why do we do these things to ourselves? We know that they can lead to unhealthy dependencies and damage our bodies.

The simple answer is convenience, social acceptance, and lack of alternatives.

  • What if the next time you felt stress or anxiety you didn’t have wait for happy hour or dismiss yourself for a smoke break?
  • What if the next time you had an ache or pain you didn’t have to take over the counter medication that can cause stomach bleeding or ulcers?

In this blog I’ll present one possible alternative that has worked for me and many others. The alternative is called CBD; it’s all natural and has no side effects.

CBD, Cannabidiol, is a naturally occurring compound found in the resinous flower of the cannabis plant.

Research shows that CBD benefits include anti-inflammatory and anti-convulsant properties. It has been used to treat vomiting and nausea, as well as anxiety and other mood disorders.

I know what you’re thinking: “Cannabis? Isn’t that weed?”

Yes and no. Scientists and doctors all over the world are testing and confirming the therapeutic properties of hemp-derived CBD that endow the plant with its vigorous therapeutic profile.

Wait, CBD doesn’t make a person feel “high/stoned?”

CBD is derived from a type of cannabis plant known as “Hemp” and it contains far less THC than is found in “marijuana.” THC is the compound that makes a person feel intoxicated.
