LISTEN Community Services of the Upper Valley is proud to announce the launch of its new, comprehensive, and user-friendly website. “Long before the pandemic, LISTEN Community Services has been here helping people meet their basic needs for food, shelter, clothing, and more,” explained Kyle Fisher, Executive Director, LISTEN Community Services. “Covid 19 created even greater stress for the community we serve, and it forced us to look at whether our website could help us become even more effective in reaching people who could benefit from our programs,” explained Fisher. “The health of the Upper Valley is dependent upon access to basic human needs. In order to make it easy to understand the breadth of what we offer to the community and to create a friendly user experience, we worked to revitalize our website as a ‘storefront’ for everything we do,” Fisher added. “We also added sections geared toward thoughtful individuals and organizations who wish to support us through donations, and we are extremely proud of the way it has all come together,” said Fisher.

Working in coordination with creative website design expert, Shawn Dixon of Clover Creative Group, LISTEN Community Services now has an approach to both its services and donor relations that makes interacting on any device easy. “The break though in our creative thinking was between the words ‘Need’ and ‘Give,” said Shawn Dixon, Owner, Clover Creative Group. “Asking the questions, “Do you need food?” or “Do you need clothing?” generated the focus that got us here,” stated Dixon. He adds, “I’m extremely proud of the way the website design honors the great history that LISTEN has in the Upper Valley. I wanted to humanize the brand, show the impact LISTEN has on the communities in Vermont and New Hampshire, as well as make it inviting and attractive to everyone who uses it.”

The new LISTEN website www.listencs.org has also been met with enthusiasm and appreciation from the staff and volunteers. “I feel so proud to work at LISTEN Community Services and now, we have a website that reflects our great work,” said Eileen Lambert, LISTEN employee. “I know it will help people and families suffering in the community and I hope that when they look for help, they find us.”

Jill Marshall, a consultant on the project said, “I have a passion for the invaluable services offered by LISTEN, so if my work enables Upper Valley families who are food insecure or struggling to keep a roof over their heads to find LISTEN, then we have changed the Upper Valley for the better, and that makes me very proud.”

About LISTEN Community Services: LISTEN’s mission is to provide services and support to meet the basic needs of Upper Valley neighbors who have fallen on hard times. Offered services and support include housing and utility assistance, a food pantry, community meals, summer camp scholarships, holiday baskets, and vouchers for clothing, furniture and other critical needs. These services are made available through the generous support of donors, grant makers and the agency’s three thrift stores in Lebanon NH, Canaan NH, and White River Junction VT.
