Fibroids and endometriosis can be difficult to treat through medication. Dr. Antonio Gargiulo talks about why a particular type of medication, called analogs of gnrh, is prescribed in some cases, especially before a reproductive surgery. In the case of fibroids, analogs of gnrh can shrink the blood supply and the fibroids themselves. Dr. Gargiulo is the Director of Robotic Surgery at the Center for Infertility and Reproductive Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
