Without DNS, rather than punching www.butterscotch.com into your address bar to come visit us, you'd have to input a string of digits (216.40.32.39), called an IP address, to drop by and say hello. Not only are IP addresses hard to remember, they're not terribly easy to market. 216.40.32.39: Tasty Tech, Delicious Downloads doesn't have quite the same ring. That's where DNS comes in. Alex Blum on JumpTV's Video Marketing Strategy
