There are some locations which lend themselves with perfection to just about every vacation experience. There are refreshments available on The Deck, telescopes, restrooms and picnic facilities. A great choice for children, the Gondola runs from 10.00 until 17.00 daily but it is advisable to check as there are one or two dates during the season when the ride is closed.

Heavenly features both the longest and the steepest ski runs, the longest being 5.5 miles and the steepest having a vertical stomach-dropping fall of 3,600 feet. The water at Tahoe is reputed to be crystal clear, boasting a 99.9% purity, it seems unreasonable to complain about the 0.% shortfall!

Another great attraction is the helicopter tour, a sparkling 10 minute flight over stunning Emerald Bay. This starts at US49 per person, and the helicopter can accommodate three passengers plus the pilot. It’s well worth the trip and includes a bird’s eye view of Fallen Leaf, where Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston filmed the snowy scenes in The Bodyguard.

Activities available at the Lake include golf, snowboarding, skiing, water skiing, gambling in one of the casinos, fishing, boating, and of course there are shopping areas and restaurants if you get tired of the outdoor life and need some retail therapy for the afternoon.

Beautiful Tahoe has attracted a number of celebrities over the years including Cher and Sammy Davis Jr. The great thing is there is always plenty going on around the lake and if you want to fill your evenings as well as your days there is certainly loads to choose from in the way of amusement.
