Frequent Flyer Mile Benefits Revealed
 by: Shelly Walther

There are many advantages to those that use frequent flyer miles. Step one is to determine the right frequent flyer program that means your specific needs and wants. After you do that, you can then learn about different program offers, and begin to take full advantage of them. If earning frequent flyer miles is the only benefit that you can imagine, keep trying. You can really find some great benefits with the frequent flyer program you are in by working to earn a large sum of miles within a short period of time.

Features To Consider

You should take advantage of a frequent flyer program, especially as a business owner or if you fly regularly. Many frequent flyer programs offer a wide range of varying benefits that you should take into consideration before choosing a plan. For example, some programs have a simple mile for mile reward system that can later be cashed in for some free travel. Although, don’t count on a mile of earned flight time to equal a mile of free travel. Nevertheless, benefits are there for the taking.

There are some great benefits for those who fly on a regular basis, and here are some of the basics:

o You can earn frequent flyer miles that allow you to make reservations for future flights, and have priority in seating choices.

o If you need a seat on a sold out flight, you might be able to bump a regular passenger, and obtain their seat.

o Beyond being able to pick your own seat, you can oftentimes also reserve the seat next to you.

o You may also have access to certain airport benefits such as first class passenger lounges.

These are just some of the many benefits offered to passengers that have elite customer status in a frequent flyer program. If you are one of these elite members, then you should be looking forward to these benefits. Remember, not all frequent flyer programs are the same from airline to airline, so benefits may different. That is why it is extremely important to compare programs before choosing one. Finally, elite status is oftentimes only available to those customers who fly a specific amount of miles per year or month. Frequent flyer miles that are earned in other ways, such as through hotels, car rentals, or even credit cards with the airline, are not typically counted toward a customer’s elite status with the airline.
