Perfectionist or Anal-Retentive by Nisha Sharma

It looks great to be perfectionist or for the matter looking perfectionist is better. Most of people are motivated with the idea of getting perfection. But reality is bitter that we know very few of them. But we know a lot of anal-retentive out there. A slightest of wrinkle in their cloth make them mad. It has to be 100 percent perfect from other for their approval. Mistakes, errors, chaos are antithetical to their personality.

Sure enough perfection is great to achieve best work efficiency. But we know the flip side of this perfectionism. It makes us hyper, intolerant of ourselves and of others and very uncomfortable to uncertainly. We become rigid, nitpicky, anal-retentive sort of person who is always pain in ass for most of people around. It create a wall between us to communicate as people do everything to avoid such perfectionist.

When it comes to soft skill and people skill, perfectionist is always at loss. They can be very effective in individual game of life. But in a team work, they are considered an clog in the system. They are perceive to stop almost everything which comes to them. They are not ready to accept different personality, different culture and working style. For them perfectionism is only.

Way of living. Accommodating anything is compromise with perfection. So they rarely do that. In today’s world when time is precious, we can’t waste a lot of our energy and time on such nit picking

So how we dead with this? We need to look outwardly. Nature is one of best teacher in chaos, imperfection, perfection. You will never find anything super perfect in nature. God has made them like that. None is perfect. So why are you mad to be one. One has to be accommodative and have to accept that people do make mistakes. It is said that making mistake is not sin, but repeating them is. So we should never repeat our mistake. Creativity is great virtue of humankind and nature. It create the world around. But creativity is never perfect. Imperfection is not creativity but creativity is imperfect almost all the time.

Choose your pick. Do you want to become a perfectionist with right sense or an anal-retentive who rarely get anything completed on time.
