Do You Invite the Devil into Your Life Without Realizing It?
 by: A. F. Traveler

Many observant souls living today, living in this world and looking around them, must admit an unwelcome truth: the “devil” or “darkness” seems to have a stronghold over many lives.

Regardless of our individual beliefs, most of us would agree that the Bible contains many truths. And, in the Bible, it says, “Give no place to the devil.”

In the story, “The Devil and Daniel Webster,” the message is clear: The devil can only get a stronghold in your life if he is INVITED in.

What does this mean? Most of us, if asked, would say, “Of course, I would not let the devil into my life! Of course not! How can you ask such a thing of me!”

Now, do not presume that this “devil” is a single personage, or a specific entity. Let’s suppose there are those who work for good (heart-centered and love based), and those who work for darkness (self-serving/ego-based/coming from fear, hate, jealousy, and dominance).

And most people are between these two forces: The People—you and I—are the ones who must CHOOSE between the two.

And, if asked, we would declare to ourselves and the world: “YES, I choose Good! I choose God! Of course I do!”

And yet…many of us go through so many hard times, many of us live in despair, and darkness. Look around you. Most people are not happy, most people do not live in integrity. They suffer difficult relationships, they work in jobs they hate, they grumble about how miserable they are, and they basically end up LIVING A LIE. They do many things they do not feel good about, just to survive in this world. And when atrocities happen around them, they are so afraid themselves, they pretend they do not see.

And…these are good people. I could be talking about you. Or me.

So, if I am talking about you…or me…what went wrong?

Where did our dreams die?

How were our ideals abandoned?

Who abandoned them? And why?

I will be writing much more on the different masks the devil takes, and how it usurps our Light, and our lives. Most of these masks SEEM innocuous. Most of them SEEM innocent enough. Most of the masks are approved of by our society. They come in many disguises, many of which touch upon the points where we are most vulnerable.

A question: Have you ever noticed how spiders hang out around light? They build their webs exactly where they know the moths will go. The moths do not see the web, they only see the light. And as soon as they fly toward the light--which is their nature--they are trapped.

Another question: Have you ever bothered to learn what a spider does to it’s victim? Keeping it trapped, paralyzed, and barely alive, so it can feed off of its energy?

So…if the devil is wearing a mask. And saying all the right words. And he knocks at your door…will you let him in?

Most of us do, because we don’t recognize him—he is the Great Pretender. He is pretending to be Light. He is pretending to be Love. He is pretending to be whatever it is that you need most desperately in your life, and he does it VERY convincingly. You might say the devil is the ultimate sociopath.

I am writing this article for those of you who have experienced this pain, this betrayal. So you know, already, I am speaking truth to your soul. How many encounters have you had with “spiritual teachers,” “healers,” and “friends,” which were really encounters with … the devil?

Anyone with a trusting heart understands exactly what I’m saying. It is the trusting hearts they seek the most. Tell me…how many times have you been betrayed by someone who pretended to be something they were not?

I have lived through this experience again and again. And I knew, intuitively, that somehow I was attracting this force to me. I was letting it in, but I didn’t understand how. I didn’t realize that certain things were actually “magnetizing” to my energy field so that they could target the type of energy I was sending out.

Yes, I have survived many encounters with “the devil.” And have learned much in the process.
