Organizing A Cornhole Tournament
 by: Dave Roth

While not everyone sees the popularity of the cornhole game, a person who is interested in it often finds time to play and perfect his or her skills. Anyone with a cornhole set and interest in the game can learn to play it well. For those who do play often, and for those who really enjoy the game, there are cornhole tournaments in some parts of the country. A cornhole tournament can be easily organized by people who love the game. Finding others who share that interest can generally be done through simple advertising. Once some people have been located, a cornhole tournament can be set up. Generally, this is not difficult to do. However, some planning must go into it. This is due to the fact that organization is the key to having a good tournament.

In order to organize a cornhole tournament, a person has to know where it will be held. If it is a very small tournament, a person might have enough yard space to host the tournament. For larger tournaments, though, or for people who live in small spaces with little to no yard, a larger area will be needed. Sometimes, a city park can be used. There will be towns that require permission and towns that will not. It is always important to check with each town or city and find out what the requirements are. In addition, some local schools and colleges have large, open areas that a person might be able to get permission to use. In general, there are always places where a tournament can be held. Just be sure to check local laws and know what the requirements are before organizing a cornhole tournament.

For a cornhole tournament to be a success, people should get something out of it. There can be prizes, for example. They do not have to be big prizes. Even little ones will do. Small tokens are enough, especially if there is a children’s tournament. In addition, there is often an entry fee for a cornhole tournament. This allows for the money raised to be used to buy the prizes. If there is money left over, it can be used to donate to a good and worthy cause. Telling people this will be the case often makes them more willing to pay a higher entry fee because some of it will be going to charity.

Most people will give to a good cause, especially if they are getting something good out of it as well. By doing things this way, a cornhole tournament can get more participants and have a much higher chance of success than it otherwise would. Not everyone knows a lot of people who like to play cornhole. However, there are often more people around than one would think. Because of this, there are ways of advertising to find more interested parties. In addition, researching on the Internet can turn up a lot of cornhole information that can help to find more players for a cornhole tournament. It can also help to find people who might be interested in donating time, money, or prizes to the tournament.
