This may be programs for the arts, like dance or water color, or educational programs that offer a study of an artist’s work. After school programs are not just there for a child to spend time until a parent comes home. They are meant to help children develop their personalities, their social skills and how they interact with other adults and children. They allow children to interact with children from other social groups. They are not responding to a teacher but to an adult or adults who are there help them understand teamwork or individual accomplishment versus team accomplishment. They are there to help children be aware of who they are and what they can achieve, to help them with their self confidence. All those important attributes that help the children grow from child to adult.

Not all children require the same structure to achieve their desires. That is why so many after school programs are available to choose from.
