What Sort Of Site Do I Need To Create - Blog, Squeeze Page Or Something Else?
 by: Mike Calmot

When using the internet for business, there are basically two main approaches. Each approach serves its purpose and it really is all up to you which way you want to go.

Firstly, consider the type of relationship you want to create with your customers. If you are in a niche where continuous communication with your prospects is the key to selling them your product, then a blog may serve you better. Having a blog is more of a long term business where you will need to create continuous content. Remember you have to prove yourself to your customers before they will buy from you. Keep your blog updated and provide your visitors with great value and you will be seen as an authority in your niche. That way people will trust you enough to buy whatever it is that you will be selling in the longer term.

What about squeeze pages then?

Building a squeeze page can be very profitable for your internet business- money is in the list right? This is absolutely true and whichever approach you decide to take you should definitely build a list so you can market to it later. You may build a list faster with the help of a squeeze page as there are no distractions on, the interested party can only opt in or leave. Current wisdom is that you should provide a piece of free content to the subscriber in return for your prospects email address. This option has worked well in the past and it doesn't look like it will be going away soon, so if you're not trying it, give it a go!

Of course, you could do both, but in the end it really is all up to you and of course it may be that the market you are in has a particular preference. There are niches where visitors will probably come to your website many times before taking action, whether subscribing to your list or buying your product, whereas there are other markets where it is best that you send your visitors straight to the squeeze page to capture the information you really want.

Finally, remember whatever you decide to do and whatever niche you are in, one thing is clear, when using internet for business you must build a list so make sure you have an opt in box on the blog if that is the route you choose. The squeeze page will take care of itself!
