Saving Your Home From Water Damage
 by: Leo Nov

If your home has become a victim of water damage it is imperative you take the precautionary steps to save your home.

If you have severe water damage you want to immediately contact your insurance company. Hopefully you have flooding insurance on your insurance plan. Take photos for the insurance company. Save all documentation received from your insurance company. You may need to fill-out a lot of paperwork and keeping all of your information in one area will make this easier for you to keep track of.

Next you want to call a certified contractor to come in and repair your items and home from water damage. You can save your home by giving it immediate attention. If your home is safe to enter you can go in and open all windows and doors for proper air flow. If there is air flow coming through your home it will slow down mold growth which is hazardous to your health and your pet’s health. When entering your home make sure you are covered head to toe in protective gear. Wear a hat, goggles, coveralls, and strong boots that do not leak. Do not let any microorganisms enter your body.

If you suspect sewage or any type of feces is in your home with water damage do not enter. This water is highly toxic to humans and pets. You may become severely ill or even death may occur by taking this chance. Leave water damage with sewage involved to the certified specialists. You will get professional care, professional products that work to clean your home, and return to a safe environment.

You do not want to subject your family to any type of toxic materials. It is for your safety to hire a professional company to get the job done right. The company will kill all mold, mildew, and bacteria from your home making it a safe place to once again live in.
