 by: John Green

Heart failure affects more than five million Americans and results in nearly one third of a million deaths every year. It should be immediately treated and the various changes suggested by the doctor should be instantly incorporated. There are a number of therapies suggested in treating heart failure. Medications like generic Tenormin (Atenolol) and other such beta-blockers are considered the most effective medications. Yet, users should not buy Tenormin, unless suggested to, after a physician’s consultation.

Heart Failure

Heart failure is a cardiovascular disorder in which the heart is not able to perform at its optimum output levels. This doesn’t fulfill the overall requirement of the body’s need for fresh oxygenated blood. Some patients may have a heart that fills up with an insufficient amount of blood, thus the quantity pumped out is not adequate. In some cases, the heart is not able to muster enough force that is required for the blood to reach all body parts. In the rest of the cases, both these problems occur together.

Usually the heart keeps deteriorating as time goes by. The right side of the heart is more susceptible to damage but there are also cases when both sides of the heart are equally affected. The latter is found to be predominant in heart failure cases. Whenever the right side of the heart fails, the lungs don’t receive appropriate quantities of blood to absorb the inhaled oxygen. On the other hand, the left side is responsible for oxygen-rich blood reaching all body parts. The most common reasons of heart failure are coronary heart diseases, hypertension, diabetes, etc.

Heart Failure Causes

Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) is caused due to an obstruction in the arteries that bring blood to the heart. Formation of plaque on the internal walls of the coronary arteries is responsible for reducing or even preventing blood from reaching the heart. Plaque is formed when the body’s self-healing mechanism patches up the injuries on the interior walls of the arteries. Fats, calcium and cholesterol deposits are formed on this plaque, narrowing the size of the arteries down. Sometimes it develops blood clots, which can completely stop blood flow to the heart.

High blood pressure or hypertension is the condition in which the pressure created by blood on the artery walls is very high. This can cause the heart to become weak and increase the quantity of plaque deposits on the artery walls. Diabetes can also cause heart failure. Continuous presence of high sugar quantities in the blood can damage muscles. Heart muscles and surrounding blood vessels are easily susceptible to the damaging action of blood sugar, causing them to deteriorate. There are number of other factors like diseases, lifestyle habits or substance abuse that can also cause heart failure.

Heart failure treatments – use of generic Tenormin (Atenolol)

Although there is no certain cure for treating heart failure, there are various therapies that can definitely improve the quality of life post such a diagnosis. Patients will be advised to completely put out their destructive lifestyle habits and a healthy diet may be recommended along with proper liquid consumption. Medications like generic Tenormin (Atenolol) use may be started and if needed, additional medical procedures/surgeries may be carried out to support the heart. Patients should consult a physician before they actually buy Tenormin (Atenolol) as generic Tenormin (Atenolol) use only helps if accurate diagnosis states that it is needed.
