The HTC Legend Provides The Ultimate In Smartphone Style

Since its release in March 2010, the versatile HTC Legend has proven to be a popular smartphone. Its impressive array of features transform the handset into an MP3 player, an effective digital camera and web browser.

Measuring 112x 56.3x11.5mm and weighing in at a pocket friendly 126 grams, the HTC Legend remains lightweight and a comfortable phone to hols and use on the move. Its brushed silver finish makes it a sophisticated choice for the style conscious user.

The 3.2 inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen is a great way to display images mad play video footage in superb quality and detail. It is also a dynamic and interactive method of navigating the HTC Sense UI. In addition to touchscreen technology, an optical trackpad is also located at the bottom of the screen, offering a thumb-operated alternative method of navigating the menus. The screen also features an accelerometer sensor which rotates the screen in real-time allowing photos, videos and even the user interface to be viewed in portrait and landscape dependent upon the orientation of the phone.

Users are alerted to incoming calls and messages via a combination of both ringing and vibration. Music files in MP3 and WAV formats can be assigned to use as ringtones, allowing users to hear the song of their liking whenever the phone rings. Handsfree communication is easily achieved thanks to an easy to use speakerphone system and a 3.5mm audio jack which can be used in conjunction with both handsfree headsets and earphones for listening to music via the internal media player.

As users may expect from such a premium and feature rich smartphone, a long list of useful features and applications is provided straight out of the box. A versatile internal media player is provided which supports a whole host of different file formats of both music and video files. A number of Google applications are supported such as Gmail, GMaps, and Google search. A number of useful productivity applications are also provided, including a document viewer and a handy organiser.

In order to connect to the internet, a number of different methods are utilised. In areas with little or no 3G coverage, class 10 GPRS & EDGE are utilised, which also provide the handset with its connections to cellular networks. In 3G covered areas, an HSDPA connection provides internet access at speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps, alongside HSUPA at 2 Mbps. Users can however enjoy a much faster internet connection courtesy of Wi-Fi technology. This detects the signals provided by wireless internet routers and utilises these to provide an enhanced browsing experience at broadband speeds. In order to carry out tasks such as transferring media files and backing up contact info, the HTC Legend has Bluetooth and micro USB connections for connecting to other compatible hardware devices.

Whether you are a budding photographer or simply a spontaneous snapshot taker, the 5MP digital camera is sure to please. Utilising a pixel resolution of 2592x 1944, the resulting images are of outstanding quality, whilst the ability to shoot video is an added bonus. A package of image enhancing features is included which aim to increase the quality of the photos taken whilst simplifying the task of taking them.

The HTC Legend is a premium smartphone in every sense of the word. Its unique styling and design coupled with its advanced technology means it is sure to appeal to all manner of users.
