The Samsung Wave - Featuring An Impressive Digital Camera

Released in February 2010, the Samsung Wave has proven to be a popular handset thanks both to its impressive styling and appealing levels of functionality.

With and light weight of 118 g, this compact dimensions of 118x 56x 10.9 mm, the Samsung Wave is both a lightweight and slimline, which makes it a perfect handset for use on the move.

If measuring 3.3 inches, the super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen is one of the Samsung Wave's crowning features. Offering a dynamic and interactive method of navigating the TouchWiz user interface, the screen can also display content with high levels of clarity and definition in up to 16M colours.

Users have the option to assign MP3 music files as ringtones allowing them a degree of customisation of the handset so they can hear the song of their choice whenever the phone rings. As well as a number of pre-installed ringtones, this feature operates alongside vibration to alert users to incoming calls and messages. There is an integrated speakerphone system which allows users to talk hands free when on the move.

A generous 1.5 GB of internal storage is provided as standard offering a good number of data to be stored. Should further storage be required, then they integrated micro SD card slot can be utilised which can accommodate a memory card of up to 32 GB. This is sure to prove sufficient for most users as it is capable of storing an entire digital music collection or a large number of video files etc.

To stay connected to cellular networks, the Samsung Wave utilises class 10 versions of both GPRS and EDGE. Access to the Internet in areas covered by 3G is available at speeds of up to 7.2 mega bytes per second via an HSDPA connection along with HSUPA at 2 MB per second. To gain a faster Internet connection, Wi-Fi Technology is utilised and takes advantage of the signals provided by wireless Internet routers, resulting in an enhanced browsing experience. Users are able to carry out a number of different tasks whenever they connect to compatible hardware devices such as other phones and computers thanks to both Bluetooth and micro USB connections.

One of the most impressive hardware features of the Samsung Wave has to be its 5 mega pixel digital camera. This operates at a pixel resolution of 2592x 1944 pixels, giving budding photographers are tools to take high quality snapshots with the minimum of fuss thanks to the inclusion of features such as Autofocus, face, smile & blink detection, image stabilisation and touch focus. An LED flash is also included so low lighting conditions are no problem. In order to automatically record the location at which a photo was taken, geo-tagging is included which functions thanks to GPS. Of course the camera can also shoot video footage and this is in 720p high definition at 30 frames per second.

Thanks to its everyday versatility in functionality, the Samsung Wave ticks all the boxes and offers appeal to a wide range of different users.
