Can Stolen Phones Be Tracked?
 by: Aggrey Mullwani

This is a question many people are trying to figure out. Many people usually use the police, FBI, CIA and any other investigation agency possible to just get a phone. This is sometimes a hustle and sometimes you may end up paying some hefty cash just to track a phone worth a few dollars but was very valuable to you.

The wonderful news is that stolen mobile phones can be tracked and recovered. Thanks to some wonderful programmers who have been able to integrate their software to work in conjunction with the satellite technology, an individual can be able to track where his or her mobile phone is. You need not pay private investigators and other thousands of dollars just to know who has your phone. Why not know where the phone is yourself then take the necessary (legal) steps to try and locate?

The question that could be on many people’s minds now is ‘how does all this happen?’

This kind of technology works properly for 3G (3rd generation) phones. These are the more advance kinds of phones that can store data, have Bluetooth technology and act like ‘mini computers’. All one has to do is to download the software on their phone. You will then have to fill in some information where one of the important things to fill in would be the number (most preferably a cell phone number) of someone you trust or are in constant contact with. Then on that unfortunate day, as you walk down the street and someone snatches your precious mobile phone, you will be able to track down the where the phone is. You may not get the exact person who did it because he could sell it to someone else, but you will be able to track the cell phone. What will happen is that as soon as the other party removes your sim card, a text message will be sent immediately to the cell phone number of your trusted friend or colleague with the exact details of location.

Sounds exciting, right? Prevention is better than cure…
