What Are The Different Types Of Special Event Insurance?
 by: Rickey Pearce

When it comes to special events, most people think of the huge, star studded extravaganzas where dozens of performers are on stage or where you have got millions of dollars on the line at a sports event like professional football games or NASCAR races. While those are indeed special events, there are other special events that have an insurance needs just like the big events. And not having that insurance can spell disaster.

For big events like the races, and concerts definitely have insurance plans in place to protect both the audience and the participants, but most small events don't. Insurance coverage will cover circumstances that happen, especially one's that the organizers perhaps have not thought of. Even though these are smaller events, unlike the larger sporting events or concerts, they often will be overlooked. Most events that need insurance coverage are simply participatory.

These events include proms, school trips, conventions, auto shows, garden shows, bazaars, church youth groups and even consumer or trade shows. No one is performing at these, but everyone involved could certainly benefit by having insurance coverage. Let's face it. One trip and fall or one accident with equipment and the expenses could well be beyond anything the organizers could afford to be liable for. Even private and family events like weddings, reunions, picnics, luncheons and banquets could face major disaster if an accident or injury were to lead to a lawsuit. Having event insurance means all those issues are covered.

Other group events like Boy and Girl Scout jamborees, 4-H Club meetings, Soap Box Derbies and even ROTC events need insurance coverage. Some of these events can attract hundreds of people and having insurance protection is a definite necessity, which will save the event holder from having problems later on.

Granted, big events like football games and auto races have insurance needs, but little events do too. Relaxing and having fun at your events comes from having the right insurance coverage, which takes the worry out of the equation. Whether the event is a family event, an event with your church or school, or a for profit event like an auto show or non-profit like a telethon, having full coverage for the events can make the difference between having success, or having a disaster.
